History & Description

Origin

This variety is a traditional selection from the Island of Beauty, grown for generations in Corsican orchards. It benefits from the island's unique terroir, where the temperature swing between sunny days and cool nights promotes exceptional pigmentation.

Tree description

It is a vigorous, productive orange tree with a rounded habit and dense, dark green foliage. It is well adapted to the Mediterranean climate and shows good resistance to wind and to the cold typical of orange trees.

Fruit quality

The fruit is a medium-sized orange with thin rind, often tinged with red on the outside. The flesh is an intense purplish red and very juicy, with ripening that fully expresses itself in late winter.

Flavor and ornamental interest

In flavor, it is a marvel of balance. It offers the typical blood orange taste with pronounced red berry notes (raspberry, blackberry) and a refreshing acidity that softens with time.
